No Ground Wire: The Problem
The majority of the outlets in the house have an open ground. The previous owners hired George's Electric to install a new electrical box and add GFCI protection for the ungrounded outlets, but the outlets remain ungrounded.

Safe & Sound Electric provided a rough estimate of $16,000 to rewire the house. This was done over the phone, and based on the square footage of the house.
Ahearn Electric came on August 23 2021, and said the work already done appears to be excellent, and recommends we don't change it. If we did want to rewire the house to add grounding to the outlets it would cost between $15,000 and $20,000.
